Quick Summary

  • Warm, punchy bass that doesn’t distort

  • Smooth mids and highs without sounding harsh

  • Very compact charging case with USB-C

  • Secure fit that stays in during workouts

  • Controls are mostly good, but volume control is annoying

  • Solid overall microphone quality

Bottom line:
The Monster Achieve 300 AirLinks are excellent value earbuds with strong bass, a great fit, and one of the smallest cases I’ve used. They’re easy to recommend if you want something budget and compact that still sounds good.

Controls

Controls are mostly very good, with one exception.

  • Single tap: Play / pause, answer calls

  • Hold left (2s): Previous track

  • Hold right (2s): Next track

  • Double tap left: Volume down (one step)

  • Double tap right: Volume up (one step)

Skipping tracks and basic playback work well, but the volume control is slow and can be frustrating. Since single taps control play/pause, it’s easy for gestures to overlap. There is no app support currently.

Case and Battery Life

The charging case is much smaller than most earbuds I’ve used, which I really appreciate. It’s easy to pocket, feels well designed, and uses USB-C for charging.

With the case included, the total battery life comes in at around 32 hours, which is solid for earbuds of this size.

Sound Quality

(Measured with miniDSP EARS — not industry standard)

Sound quality is the standout feature here.

The bass is warm and punchy, with a good amount of thump without distorting. It has enough impact to be satisfying, but it doesn’t overpower the rest of the sound. Mids and highs are slightly constrained, which keeps things from getting harsh or fatiguing, yet the sound never feels muffled.

Overall, the tuning strikes a nice balance. Personally, I don’t perceive the upper mids boost and subsequent treble fall off nearly to the degree that my measurement rig suggests.

This is one of the better-sounding earbuds I’ve used at this price.

Comfort and Fit

Once you get them positioned correctly, the fit is excellent.

You do need to line up a small nub with the fold of your ear, which can take a few seconds at first. But once they’re in, they stay locked in. I had no issues during workouts, jogging, pull-ups, or longer sessions — they never loosened or fell out.

Microphone Quality

The microphone is decent overall.

It doesn’t aggressively reject background noise, but it does quiet it down somewhat. Vocals come through clearly enough, though the tonality is slightly muffled. Considering the microphone placement, performance is better than expected and perfectly usable for calls.

Verdict

The Monster Achieve 300 AirLinks are excellent earbuds.

You get strong bass, a secure fit, and a compact case. The controls aren’t perfect — especially volume — but everything else works well.

If you’re looking for affordable earbuds with good bass and a small footprint, these are an easy recommendation and earn The Bass Arena approval.
